Representative John Dingell (D-MI) claims 18,000 people a year are dying for lack of health insurance coverage.You can listen to Dingell speaking with Paul W. Smith of station WJR 760 AM, billed as "The Great Voice of the Great Lakes" in Detroit. The interview starts at about 1:24 on the timer. A new age of serfdom has arrived; Dingell speaks of his constituents as "my people". He offered this lovely little thought:
"Let me remind you this [Americans allegedly dying because of lack of universal health care] has been going on for years. We are bringing it to a halt. The harsh fact of the matter is when you’re going to pass legislation that will cover 300 [million] American people in different ways it takes a long time to do the necessary administrative steps that have to be taken to put the legislation together to control the people." (Emphasis added)If 18,000 people a year are dying, why did they not get those people covered NOW instead of 4 years from now? Can the Democrats now take credit for 72,000 needless deaths because of their delay?
Health reform is not about helping people, it's about controlling people.
Unconscionable!
